Panos

  • Barrie, Ontario Canada

"I am writing in on behalf of my hero, Panagiotis. Panos was born April 1, 2010 (very appropriate my funny guy) with Pierre Robin Sequence and was transferred immediately to Sick Kids which became our home for almost 5 months. Since his birth he has been diagnosed with Q10 duplication, severe obstructive sleep apnea, scoliosis, phosphate waisting rickets (causing several fractures), hearing loss, G.E.R.D. to name a few. He has had 4 surgeries with another coming up soon. Despite everything, he is the sweetest little guy you could meet. Obviously him mommy is his absolute most favourite thing in this big beautiful world  but a very close second is water. Showers, baths, pools, lakes, sinks, rain. And when he does not have that then he has a musical turtle that has kept him company and stayed by his side thru thick and thin. You must know how absolutely amazing all of these children are... I glow with pride with every single accomplishment. After writing you this email I am going on fbook to brag that my 4 year old held his arms around my neck and stood on his own two feet so I could pull up his shorts.... AHHHHHHH YAY! I just wish I had a 3rd arm to reach for my camera to catch the moment! My boy is nonverbal. He does not walk or crawl. He does not draw pictures. But he is loving and affectionate. If you could portray him and show him for the superhero we all know he is I would be forever grateful!" – Lisa (Mom)
